Hello! Pride Alliance Professional Development host events that provide access to education and experience for the LGBTQIA students aiming to enter the work force. We host resume workshops, panelist, and career fairs!
Pride Alliance is also a chapter of Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM)! oSTEM is a professional society focused on LGBTQIA people in the STEM community. Together, oSTEM has more than 65 student chapters at colleges/universities and professional chapters in cities across the United States and abroad.
oSTEM is a national society serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer and Allies (LGBTQA) communities and functions to:
- Provide services and support for students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
- Create a dynamic network between students and professionals in industry and academia.
- Provide education, outreach, and professional resources to high school students.
Actively recruit and address the needs of diverse groups within the LGBTQA community, inclusive of those who are historically underrepresented with regards to gender and ethnic background.
Pride Alliance has hosted a variety of events with many large companies, including Google, GE, Deloitte, the CIA and more. The events focused on professional developent for members of the LGBTQIA community using real life examples from employees at some of the most influencial companies in the US.
STEM fields have been noted for their historic underrepresentation of minority groups. One of the main goals of these events is to demonstrate how to be successful in the workplace without hiding your identity.
Every year Pride Alliance strives to send members to represent Georgia Tech at the oSTEM National Conference. This conference provides every chapter oppurtunities to further their chapters as well as themselves through a series of workshops, keynotes, and a career fair with some of the biggest names in the STEM community.
Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is pleased to invite you to our seventh annual conference in Chicago, Illinois. We look forward to hundreds of our members from across the country coming together for this four-day conference experience, taking place November 16-19, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare. Join us in a celebration of diversity across all fields.
It gives us great pleasure to extend an invitation to you to form a partnership with our organization. A partnership with Pride Alliance is much more than financial. We feel that the time investment and sponsorship have the potential to mutually benefit our students as well as your company by introducing you to some of the nation’s most promising future engineers and giving our students the support necessary for future professional success.
