In 1996, 2002, and 2005 this bold statement was proclaimed in a two-page ad run in the Georgia Tech student newspaper, The Technique. While it has been many years, we believe that this sentiment is very much alive today and deserves a small reminder. We seek to show our LGBT friends and colleagues that we embrace them as the friends they are; to send a message of support and encouragement to others.

If you want your name to appear beside others who are proud to say 'It's okay to be gay at Georgia Tech,' we invite you to sign our list using the link below. This gesture will demonstrate the outpouring of support for the LBGT community.

Well over 1000 signatures gathered!

Thank you to everyone for your support! We have closed sign-ups to compile the ad.

Be sure to check out the Technique on April 22nd!

Thank you for your interest in AFA

Acceptance For All is an advocacy project operating with the end goal of publishing a list of willing friends to the LGBT community. By publishing this statement in the Georgia Tech student newspaper, we are showing our peers that we believe that people should be treated the same regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. We want to be supportive of all of our friends.

We want to be encouraging for our "out" friends, supportive for those who are not, and influencers amongst our fellow allies.

So, join us as we gather signatures for this effort. Your name and willingness to support the LGBT community will be published in the final Technique of this semester, alongside many, many other names. You can participate as a straight ally (someone who is accepting and supportive of the LGBT community) or as a member of the LGBT community yourself.
